Morrison Hershfield’s Rick Ziegler has recently received RCI, Inc.’s 2016 Richard M. Horowitz Memorial Award for his article titled Achieving Building Enclosure Performance Through Energy Modeling and Commissioning. RCI, Inc. is an international association of building envelope consultants. Members specialize in design, investigation, repair, and management of roofing, exterior wall, and waterproofing systems.
The award is presented for the best technical article of the year published in RCI’s technical journal, Interface.
In order to continue providing our clients with outstanding specialty Building Envelope Commissioning services, several Morrison Hershfield staff have received both their accreditation as Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider (BECxP), and Commissioning Authority + Building Enclosure Knowledge Requirements (CxA+BE) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The A/E/C industry is continuing to recognize the significant impact of the building envelope on the performance, durability, energy use, and sustainability of the building. As such, the principles of Commissioning are being applied to confirm the quality of the design and construction of the envelope.
