For the fifth year in a row, staff of Morrison Hershfield’s Atlanta office, along with several thousand other participants, took part in the city’s “Moon Ride”. It is a 6-mile night time bike ride through some of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
Congratulations to Jeremy Carkner, P.Eng., LEED® AP BD+C, who became the 44th Chair of the Board of Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO) at their AGM on Friday, September 14, 2018. Jeremy was first elected to the Board of Directors in 2015, and succeeds Rex Meadley who will stay on as Past Chair.
Tropical Storm Olivia is headed toward Hawaii and so is Morrison Hershfield Telecom Structural Engineer, Shawn W. Stevenson. Shawn is a member of the FEMA Washington State Task Force 1 that recently deployed to Maui in anticipation of a coordinated government response to the storm to prevent terrain issues and health concerns for local residents.
Volunteers from our Ottawa office recently completed a neighbourhood clean up event for Ottawa Community Housing (OCH). OCH is a public housing corporation serving over 32,000 residents of the City facing poverty and requiring social assistance to access housing.
The 2018 MEP Giants List was recently released by Consulting-Specifying Engineer (CSE) magazine. Morrison Hershfield is excited to have improved our ranking to 58th on this list of the Top 100 mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and fire protection engineering firms in the United States.
Inspired by the pursuits of the Morrison Hershfield Cycling Team earlier this summer, two members of the Transportation Group in our Ottawa Office recently took part in GranFondo Ottawa. This premier cycling event was held in the National Capital Region on Saturday, July 21st, 2018.

Staff from Morrison Hershfield’s Houston office recently participated in the 3rd Annual “Running for Hearts”, a 5K family fun run for charity. Proceeds from the event benefit survivors of Hurricane Harvey, human trafficking, domestic violence, war and crime.
The Morrison Hershfield Racing team knew that racing the Steve Bauer Classic course would not be an easy feat! The demanding course consists of laps through the winding, rolling orchards and vineyards of the Niagara Peninsula.

To kick off their cycling season, the Morrison Hershfield Racing Team participated in the 25th Annual Paris to Ancaster Bike Race (P2A), a fundraiser for the St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation. The race took place over some very tough terrain and as the riders can attest, it was a memorable experience!
In early April, Morrison Hershfield sponsored a cycling team of passionate and fierce competitors, comprised of our employees along with non-MH’ers to round out the group. The team would compete in three cycling races throughout the season, in preparation for the Provincial Championships in June.
Morrison Hershfield is pleased to welcome Scott Leitch, M.E.Sc., P.Eng. to lead our National Transportation Structures team. Scott’s 20 years of experience in the planning, preliminary design and detail design of bridges and culverts will bolster our team and help Morrison Hershfield reach its 2020VISION of becoming a recognized leader in the assessment, rehabilitation and replacement of bridges and other transportation structures across Canada. His previous experience leading and managing a large bridge engineering team will aid in a smooth transition into his new role.
Morrison Hershfield is excited to claim the 17th spot on Business Vancouver’s 2018 list of the biggest engineering firms in British Columbia. The list ranks engineering firms based on the number of BC-registered professional engineers. Information is collected through interviews with engineering companies and additional Business Vancouver (BIV) research.
