Congratulations to Hosam Sennah from Ryerson University, for winning the 2019 TAC Foundation Scholarship sponsored by Morrison Hershfield.
The Transportation Association of Canada Foundation's scholarship program awards over $110,000 annually to deserving college or university undergraduates and graduates. This is made possible by industry donor’s, such as Morrison Hershfield, who annually sponsor a scholarship category.
Hosam is in his fourth year at Ryerson University in the Bachelor of Civil Engineering Program. He has made the Dean’s list for three consecutive years in recognition of high academic achievement. He also volunteers on the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) Ryerson Chapter as the Vice President of Strategic Development. Hosam is a worthy award recipient, as these are only two of the many accolades on his impressive resume.
“I am constantly reminded of how the future our profession is in good hands,” said Loui Pappas. “Meeting Hosam for the first time reaffirms to me the high quality of future engineers entering the profession. He is an outstanding student with an innovative mind. He impressed us with the manner in which he and his classmates developed their own software to analyze their research data on the failure of pile foundations. I am glad to see the TAC Foundation scholarship program is going to those who are well deserving.”
Hosam explained how he came across the scholarship opportunity and what future applicants should know when applying for a TAC Foundation Scholarship:
“I came across the scholarship one day while googling for different scholarships available. The fact that scholarships like this are even available makes me want to work even harder. I encourage future students to apply because you never know, it provides extra motivation and looks good on a resume. The scholarships help reward deserving students and make it possible to continue in their studies without incurring a large amount of debt coming out of school. I am grateful to Morrison Hershfield and the TAC Foundation for this opportunity.”
The sponsorship winner is selected by the TAC Foundation who evaluates and scores all qualifying applications. To learn more about all the available scholarships, and apply for next year, visit the TAC Foundation’s Scholarship page.
We wish Hosam Sennah the best of luck in the last year of his program and with the upcoming Capstone semesters, his final project in the Civil Engineering Program.
