Holiday Donations to Sandgate Women's Shelter of York Region

In an effort to raise awareness about domestic violence, one of our colleagues recently spearheaded the collection of donations for the Sandgate Women’s Shelter of York Region in Sutton West, Ontario.

Since 1992, this shelter has provided support for mothers and their children who have escaped domestic abuse. It provides services such as a 24-hour safe shelter, crisis hotline and counseling, safety planning, meals, personal necessities, advocacy and referrals, children’s programs and transitional housing support.

This holiday season, our local office collected pillows, blankets, sheets, towels, pajamas, toiletries, and donations of cash and gift cards for the shelter.  The full load of items was delivered and delightedly accepted by the Sandgate Women’s Shelter in mid-December, just in time for the holidays.
