The “Microsoft 5K Run/Walk” is an annual event for Microsoft employees, family members and friends who enjoy giving back to the community while having a little fun! This year, a few enthusiastic staff members from our Seattle office had a great time supporting two client organizations by volunteering at the event.
Four local non-profits benefitted from the $400,000 raised, including Plymouth Housing, the Bellevue Boys & Girls Club, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Northwest and KEXP.
Microsoft recently made a significant contribution to Plymouth Housing to help develop eight projects to combat homelessness.
Plymouth Housing is a Seattle non-profit working to eliminate homelessness and address its causes by preserving, developing, and operating safe, quality supportive housing. Their model of permanent housing is coupled with “wraparound supportive services”, to give residents the solid base they need to rebuild their lives and leave homelessness behind forever. Morrison Hershfield has enjoyed collaborating with Plymouth, including recent work on their upcoming Madison-Boylston project scheduled to break ground in early 2020.
Joining forces with our clients on community initiatives is an important part of Morrison Hershfield’s culture. Volunteering keeps us engaged with our communities, clients, partners and each other. Together, we are making a difference!
