Building Energy Specialist Christian Cianfrone will be presenting and delivering a thermal bridging workshop at the ASHRAE EM Conference in Atlanta on Monday, September 28th. As a pre-conference workshop, those who are not attending the ASHRAE conference are still welcome to register and attend.
Cianfrone’s presentation, “Calculate the Real R-Value of Your Envelope: Tools and Methods for Complex Thermal Bridging,” is from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel.
This workshop will introduce energy modelers to a consistent calculation approach for determining effective building envelope U- and R-values for use in Whole Building Energy Simulations based on the recently published Building Envelope Thermal Bridging Guide.
In this workshop, participants will be exposed to new tools and resources for calculating accurate building envelope heat loss and be able to accurately quantify the impact of a previously ignored thermal bridging at interface details (ex. Window transitions, parapets, floor slabs, corners, etc.).
Participants are to bring their own laptops with Microsoft Excel and PDF viewer. USB keys with workshop materials will be provided with a $30 registration fee for this workshop.
