Volunteers from our Ottawa office recently completed a neighbourhood clean up event for Ottawa Community Housing (OCH). OCH is a public housing corporation serving over 32,000 residents of the City facing poverty and requiring social assistance to access housing.
The Fairlea Court community is located less than a 5 minute walk from Morrison Hershfield’s Ottawa office. This OCH development has 104 townhouse units, with a central courtyard. The property and courtyard required a major clear-out of overgrowth to improve safety and security for residents, and to make the space more inviting.
So, with their work boots, work gloves and safety glasses in tow, our hard working crew headed out in the rain to get started! The weather did not dampen the atmosphere. In fact the positive energy and enthusiasm demonstrated by volunteers and OCH staff was infectious, and a significant amount of work was done to help improve the landscape of the community!
