During the Orléans Leaders Sesquicentennial Awards held at Parliament in the House of Commons this October, Ferenaz proudly accepted the Community Leadership Award from Hon. Andrew Leslie, P.C. M.P.
Nominations were submitted to honor the outstanding citizens living and giving back in the community of Orléans. The award is granted to those who show excellence in one of four categories:

She currently sits on the Board of Directors for Ottawa Community Housing and serves on the Client Services Committee. Additionally, Ferenaz served as the Vice Chair for the annual World Partnership Walk in Ottawa to alleviate global poverty.
She was also serving with the Quality of Life Office (Ismaili Council for Ottawa) to assist with the long-term development of families living in poverty in the Region, as well as, volunteered for events such as the Mayor's Breakfast feeding deserving seniors on Canada Day.
With 20 years of voluntary leadership experience, volunteering in a leadership capacity has been her passion in life. The community of Orléans is very fortunate to benefit from Ferenaz' gift of time, skills and innovation.
In addition to her love for the community, Ferenaz succeeds at Morrison Hershfield as an Environmental Planner focusing on writing Impact Assessments to support Environmental Assessment projects, conducting environmental research and training, and administration of environmental management systems for major transit projects.
