As a co-chair of Canada's LEED steering committee, he has been an avid green building advocate.

Throughout his career, Mark has delivered courses, seminars, and presentations on aspects of sustainability to government departments, high profile green architects and designers, and numerous North American conferences.

Given to one individual annually in Canada, the Volunteer Leadership Award recognizes a deserving individual who demonstrates extraordinary commitment in time, effort and creativity to support CaGBC at the working level. This applies to committees, task forces, the Board of Directors, or other hands-on initiatives.

In addition to his previously mentioned service, Mark has been a member of the Core and Shell Task groups, the chair of the LEED Management Committee for 3 years, the founding chair and vice president of the Ottawa chapter of the CaGBC and sits on the board of directors for the Athena Sustainable Materials Institute, a non-profit research collaborative bringing life cycle assessment to the construction sector.

Congratulations to Mark on this outstanding accomplishment!
