Motivational MHer: Faisal Wahbeh
“I enjoy the pressure that comes with managing a commissioning project - from organizing commissioning meetings to presenting in front of a room full of contractors and interacting with these contractors on a weekly basis to discuss a project’s goals and problem solve.”
The Beginning of a New Chapter
Faisal Wahbeh may be new to the commissioning industry, but he’s exactly the type of candidate we like to recruit at Morrison Hershfield. He recently joined the family and has been working as a Commissioning Consultant out of our Ottawa office. Faisal made the decision to pursue commissioning as a career because he wanted to challenge himself with a role that touched a variety of engineering disciplines at once, including mechanical, electrical, building envelope and security.
A Day in the Life of a Commissioning Consultant
Since day-one, Faisal has embraced the variety of his new commissioning role with enthusiasm. His typical day is mixed with a wide range of responsibilities, and he notes that he appreciates the learning opportunities he has each day, including on-site learning, reviewing mechanical and electrical design drawings and project management. The complexity of project management sparks his interest, he’s even had an opportunity to write some commissioning proposals. His initiative to learn a wide range of subject matters quickly has impressed his manager, Rino Zan, who commented, “We’re excited with Faisal’s decision to join our group. He brings a high level of enthusiasm and interest to the Ottawa team, and he is highly motivated to use commissioning to improve energy efficiency in building design. His interest in a variety of subject matters will be put to good use.”
