Congratulations to Ryan Gidluck, Morrison Hershfield’s Vice President of Transit, who was elected President of the Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA) for the 2021-2022 term. Ryan has been on CEA’s Board of Directors since 2017.
When asked about his objectives for the coming year, Ryan said: “The CEA has a mandate to promote and enhance the business interests and opportunities of CEA member firms. This includes everything from hosting networking and training events to influencing government on policies that affect the consulting industry. I look forward to continuing the advocacy currently underway to shape procurement and payment guidelines as well as guidelines for a cautious return to in-person events when COVID-19 restrictions are loosened.”
Anthony Karakatsanis, President and CEO of Morrison Hershfield, and the current president of ACEC-Canada, has worked with Ryan on our firm’s leadership team for the last six years. “As designers of the built environment, consulting engineers have the potential to significantly influence the economic, social and environmental quality of life of Albertans. Ryan will be an excellent advocate and strong voice for the Consulting Engineers of Alberta.”
Ryan brings over 25 years of engineering experience to the role. In addition to CEA, he is also an active member of the Project Management Institute and Engineers Without Borders.
The Consulting Engineers of Alberta has been an important voice for consulting engineering companies since 1978. CEA has a membership of approximately 80 firms that offer a wide range of engineering services to public and private sector clients in Alberta, across Canada and globally.
