Morrison Hershfield is pleased to announce Amanda Pushka as the winning recipient of our TAC Foundation Scholarship for the 2019/2020 school year. Amanda is currently a student at the University of Manitoba pursuing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a special interest in bridges and transportation. She expects to graduate September 2020.
AFCOM GTA presented a $5,000 Gender Diversity Bursary cheque to McMaster University's Faculty of Engineering. This $5,000 scholarship will help support a female student in her pursuit to advance the Data Center Industry. The gift was presented during AFCOM GTA’s annual Nine and Dine golf tournament dinner.
In recognition of International Women in Engineering Day, we want to highlight the importance of the 30 by 30 initiative. Increasing the percentage of newly licensed female engineers to 30 percent by 2030 will require consistent and constant attention to the issues that have caused the gender imbalance in the engineering profession.
Engineers Canada has released a series of videos profiling this year’s award recipients. One of those featured is Morrison Hershfield’s COO, Catherine Karakatsanis, P.Eng., who received the prestigious Gold Medal Award in recognition of her remarkable achievements and contributions.
